Creating The Complete Bar in Your Own Home

By: Hell Hope

If you are planning to set up your own personal bar in your house, the first thing you should do is make a list of the types of bar supply you will need. You will have to take into consideration your budget and how elaborate you want your bar to be. While you are making your home bar supply list, create categories to make it more organized and simple.

One category could contain speed rails, juice containers, fruit trays and liquor pourers. Another category could contain picks, straws, bar caddies, rimmers, sugars and bar mats. Moreover, another category could contain an inventory control sheet, ice buckets and pitchers. Most of these items are relatively inexpensive so you could group all of these under small purchases.

In addition to those already mentioned, getting glassware that is separate from the ones you regularly use will also make your home bar feel that much more authentic. At the same time, you probably do not use shot glasses, wine glasses or scotch glasses during your daily meals so you may need to invest on them anyway.

Other things you need to invest on are the essential things that will make your bar look professional. Mixers and blenders are a must-have and are necessary to make mixed concoctions. Liquor dispensers are also a primary staple in your home bar supply to be able to easily pour drinks into glasses without too much difficulty.

Furthermore, you will need climate control equipment to monitor the required temperature for certain drinks. Kegerators are also necessary to keep your draft beer cold. Since it is inevitable for drinks to spill on the floor, you will also need to purchase floor mats. To make your home bar supply complete, you could also throw in liquor displays to showcase your wide variety of alcoholic drinks.

Home brewing supply has to be part of your bar so that you can be able to serve high quality brews to your guests. The best thing to do so you have an idea of how you want your bar set-up to look is to visit various bars in the city or read up on design books on bars. You may want your bar to have a certain look and style so talk to an interior designer and architect to help you figure out what exactly you are envisioning.
