Due to be released on July 11th is a mobile phone that looks set to become the shining light of O2's product range. But can it really be as good as people say? C an the Apple iPhone 3G really beat all other mobile phones?
Apple iPhone 3G - what makes it so special?
At the start of June, an announcement was made that made lovers of mobile phones and Apple lovers especially, go bonkers with excitement. It was nearly a year since the first iPhone was unveiled, and now, the newest iteration had just been let out of the bag. It's due to be unleashed on the world, on O2, on July 11th. But how does this new Apple iPhone 3G differ from other mobile phones? Well, first thing... it has an awesome 3.5 inch touchscreen, meaning that all the coolest features and awesome functions are available, quite literally, at your fingertips. And what control you have, as the Apple iPhone 3G is the second device in the world of mobile phones to be built around the amazingly easy to use Apple OS-X. Only one other mobile phone can say that, and that was the original iPhone.
You may recall that there was a certain amount of criticism aimed at the original iPhone. Other mobile phones can outclass it, they said, other mobile phones are more powerful. And then, in spite of the amazing interface, they were bang on the money. Other mobile phones COULD outclass the iPhone, although, that's going to be a lot more difficult to do with the Apple iPhone 3G, arriving soon on O2. The main thing that was missing from the first iPhone was 3G, and that was where other, more established mobile phones won hands down. That's not a problem now, however, as the Apple iPhone 3G, as the name suggests, is now one of the mobile phones that HAVE got 3G. And boy is it fast, because it uses HSDPA, allowing you to connect to the internet at up to 3Mbps. On top of that, you have GPS, and we should all understand how useful and invaluable GPS is!
Apple iPhone 3G - is it REALLY the future?
Once we get past the hype, is the Apple iPhone 3G really the new hope for mobile phones? Is it ACTUALLY that important? Well, it is, but maybe not in the way you suspect...
You see, the Apple iPhone 3G is, similar to its ancestor, flawed. It's not all great, and whilst that applies to most mobile phones, in the case of the Apple iPhone 3G, it's being called the ultimate phone. However, if you pick a feature at random, the camera, you'll realise that in that specific field it's average at best, and at worst, total garbage. In the current world of mobile phones with cameras included, that's a very bad thing. With that in mind, if it's flawed, why is the Apple iPhone 3G so important? Well, it's simply because the Apple iPhone 3G, arriving soon on O2, has forced other mobile phones to up their game. So, manufacturers like Nokia and Sony Ericsson are really fighting to make up ground, and take the fight to this usurper. That's why it's important: the Apple iPhone 3G is making manufacturers make better mobile phones, and hey, that can only be a good thing for us, the customers!
